Aims and Scope
The Journal of Computing and Information Systems (JCIS) aims to publish high quality papers in computer science and information systems related areas. JCIS also provides a forum for the scientists and engineers to be involved in these emerging fields. Papers reporting original research and innovative applications from all parts of the world are welcome. Papers for publication in the journal are selected through rigorous double blind peer review process, to ensure originality, timeliness, relevance, and readability. While the journal emphasizes the publication of previously unpublished materials, selected conference papers with exceptional merit that require wider exposure are, at the discretion of the editors, also published, provided they meet the journal's peer review standards. The journal also seeks clearly written survey and review articles from experts in the field, to promote insightful understanding of the state-of-the-art and technology trends.

Author Guidelines
An online submission and tracking service via Internet facilitates a speedy and cost-effective submission of manuscripts. Manuscripts must be submitted by one of the authors of the manuscript, and should not be submitted by anyone on their behalf. The principal/corresponding author will be required to submit a Copyright Letter along with the manuscript, on behalf of all the co-authors (if any), declare Conflict of Interest. The author(s) will confirm that the manuscript (or any part of it) has not been published previously or is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
For all online submissions, please provide soft copies of all the materials (main text in MS Word or LaTeX), figures/illustrations in TIFF, PDF or JPEG as separate files, while a PDF version of the entire manuscript must also be included, embedded with all the figures/illustrations/tables etc. It is imperative that before submission, authors should carefully proofread the files for special characters, mathematical symbols, Greek letters, equations, tables, references and images, to ensure that they appear in proper format. References need to be IEEE format, figures, tables, chemical structures etc. should be referred to in the text at the appropriate place where they are first discussed. Figure legends/captions should also be provided.
A successful electronic submission of a manuscript will be followed by a system-generated acknowledgement to the principal/corresponding author. Any queries therein should be addressed to info@jcis.edu.pk
Ethical Guidlines
A Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) consist of senor editorial members and action editors. The following fundamental ethical issues id defined and each ethical issue is followed by recommended actions as advised by COPE.
Data fabrication / data falsification
Data Fabrication concerns the making up of research findings and data falsification is manipulating research data with the intention of giving a false impression. This includes manipulating images (e.g., micrographs, gels, radiological images), removing outliers or “inconvenient” results, changing, adding or omitting data points, etc.
Duplicate submission / publication and redundant publication
Duplicate submission / publication refers to the practice of submitting the same study to two journals or publishing more or less the same study in two journals. These submissions/publications can be nearly simultaneous or years later. Redundant publication refers to the situation that one study is split into several parts and submitted to two or more journals. Or the findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing, permission or justification. “Self-plagiarism” is considered a form of redundant publication.
Duplication of text and/or figures (plagiarism)
Plagiarism occurs when someone presents the work of others (data, text, or theories) as if it was his/her own without proper acknowledgment. There are different degrees of plagiarism. The severity is dependent on various factors: extent of copied material, originality of copied material, position/context/type of material and referencing/attribution of the material used.
Authorship issues
All the authorship related issues like acknowledged authorship, funding, sponsor, addition of Author after/before publication, author removal before/after publication will be handled but the journal discourage any change in authorship once the manuscript is submitted for review.
Undeclared conflict of interest (CoI)
A conflict of interest is a situation in which financial or other personal considerations from authors or reviewers have the potential to compromise or bias professional judgment and objectivity. Authors and reviewers should declare all conflicts of interest in copyright letter.
Ethical problems
There are ethical issues that relate to patient consent or animal experimentation and the lack of ethical approval and signed consent before publication.
Review Process
Manuscripts Review Process
All research papers submitted to Journal of Computing and Informatics (JCI) will undergo a “double-blind peer review” process. The program committee members and referees who review the paper will not know the identity of the authors. To ensure the anonymity of authorship, authors must prepare their manuscript such as Authors’ names and affiliations must not appear on the title page or elsewhere in the paper. The flow of double-blind peer review process as follow:
